The people in Joshua 1-7 we have a body of people who are going somewhere. In this chapter we find out that Moses had died, but the ministry carries on under the leadership of Joshua. It is useful to take focus and wonder what we are doing in the Church.

2 – A clear sense of destination

The Church has to have a clear destination. We are a pilgrim people who should know where we are going. Jesus is coming back. We should be getting ready. We have a mission until He comes.

3 – Commitment to our purposes

What are we for as a Church? What way are we to show our commitment? We are to bridge, belong, build, body, beacon, burden and budget. There are core members in every church. There are those who are committed but not working. There are those who are in the congregation but not committed. The church wants people to move from the community to the core.
