Some Reasons why Islam is Wrong

Islam is a world religion founded by their “prophet” Mohammad in Arabia some 700 years after Christianity. Islam means “submission” (to God) in Arabic. Those who follow Islam are known as Muslims.

This article covers the main reasons why Islam is not a succession of Christianity or Judaism. There is a good basis for identifying it as a Christian cult mixed with paganism .

1. A Prophet can do Miracles (Deuteronomy 18:21-22)

It was a test of a true prophet from God to be able to perform miracles. Mohammad performed no miracles. We know from the Bible that Moses, Elijah, Elisha and Jesus performed numerous miracles.

Muslim apologists attempt to get around this by saying that the Qur’an itself is a miracle. Hence if the Qur’an is not perfect then Mohammad is a false prophet. Mohammad also made a number of prophecies that did not come to pass so that immediately disqualifies him as a prophet

2. A Prophet will not contradict past revelation (Deuteronomy 13:1-4)

The revelations by Mohammad about God contradict what is found in the Old and New Testament. The earliest Dead Sea scrolls are dated from the second and third century BC. These are written closer to the timeline than the Qu’ran. The Qu’ran copies many of the main characters in the Bible and seeks to make them into Muslims. Hence the Jewish and Christian revelation is pushed aside for another god called “Allah”.

The Qu’ran itself talks about accepting the Torah and the Gospels.

Say: “O People of the Book! Ye have no ground to stand upon unless ye stand fast by the Law, the Gospel, and all the revelation that has come to you from your Lord” (5:71).

Muslim apologists will either try and force verses to refer to Muhammad or say that they were corrupted. This last one only became common when Christian apologists pointed out that there is no consistency between them.

The Qu’ran itself is clear that the uncorrupted Torah and Injeel were still with the Jews and Christians at the time of Muhammad!

Those who follow the Messenger (Mohammed), the Prophet who can neither read nor write, whom they will find described in the Torah and the Gospel (which are) with them (7:157 MP).

And when there cometh unto them (Jews) a Scripture (the Qur’an) from Allah, confirming that in their possession (2:89 MP).

We know what Scriptures Jews and Christians had with them in the 7th century and they are the same Torah and Gospel we have today. The idea of God allowing his word to be corrupted itself goes completely against the Muslim view of the Qu’ran. It is easier to believe that Mohammad was a false prophet. Certainly his moral character is far removed from that of Jesus.

3. The Quran is not a perfect book

As referred to above. The Qu’ran contradicts the Old and New Testament while at the same time saying they should be accepted by Muslims as scripture and they are uncorrupted. This is known as the “Islamic Dilemma” and Islamic apologists can’t answer without undermining their Qu’ran.

  • The Bible portrays God as a Trinity (Father, Son and the Holy Spirit). The Quran rejects the Trinity for the oneness of God (Tawhid).
  • The Bible portrays Jesus as the divine Son of God who was crucified and resurrected from the dead for the salvation of humanity. The Qu’ran contradicts all this with Allah playing a trick (deception) in switching someone else to take the place of Jesus and appear to be him.

The Qu’ran itself was not properly written down and several different copies with many difference existed before they were burnt leaving one. It becomes necessary to say “Trust me bro” (Allah knows best) that Allah will protect it from corruption!

Unfortunately most Muslims only learn a small portion of the Quran and don’t read the Bible. Without reading the Bible, Muslims can know next to nothing about the ministry and teachings of Jesus. The Bible “God-breathed”, meaning that the Holy Spirit guided and controlled what the authors wrote. See 2 Timothy 3:16.

One of these is a “Holy Book” but it cannot be both as they contradict each other. Jesus, Paul and the Peter warned that false teachers would appear preaching a different Gospel. Jesus was very specific that He was the last prophet.

Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves – Matthew 7:15

For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect – Matthew 24:25

This is a comparison of the differences between the Qu’ran and the Bible.

Why did the Islamic god not hand the Qur’an to Muhammad in the form of a book written on plates of stone, the way the living biblical God handed the Ten Commandments (the Decalogue) to Moses on Mount Sinai (Exodus 31: 18; 32: 15-16)?

Muslims are not to question the “perfect” Qur’an. However, closer critical examination shows that it suffers from linguistic problems, variant versions and readings, scientific problems, historical problems, internal contradictions, and even evidence of satanic inspiration. It fails to match the Bible as a literary masterpiece.

4. Paganism that contradicts claims of monotheism

As Muhammad developed Islam he borrowed from the other regional religions present in the Mideast.  These religions include Judaism, Christianity, Sabeanism, Zoroastrianism, and forms of paganism. Islam Is paganism In monotheistic wrapping paper.

  • The Kabah is of pagan origin – Muhammad’s tribe was in charge of this local pagan sanctuary with Moon god worship.
  • Crescent moon symbol – The crescent moon symbol has been around since 2100 BC and is used in paganism and polytheism. All the Arabs at the Kaba in Mecca worshipped the moon god Hubal. The crescent moon is the official symbol of Islam on top of every Mosque in the world and beside the Kaba on top of the Maqam Ibrahim! It is also used in the country flag of many Islamic countries.
  • The Black Stone – The black stone is believed to be a meteorite that struck the earth at the time of Adam. It was one of the stones worshipped along with others. The Bible condemns stone worship in many verses. See Leviticus 26:1 and Daniel 5:23.

5. Resources for further study

It is important for Christians to understand why Islam is not a monotheistic religion and how to help Muslims come to the truth.

This content is not intended to be used for hatred towards Muslims. It is Islam that needs to be able to stand up against critical review to see if it is true or false. Many Muslims hardly know their Qu’ran and never read the Bible. There are Christians not far removed from some Muslims! God wants to save people from lies and deceit and understand the truth of Jesus Christ. The true Gospel of salvation is for all who believe. Jesus is the Way, Truth and Life.
