Jesus is the goat that was sacrificed rather than the scapegoat that was pushed off a cliff when it was found. We read in Luke 4:28-30 that the people of the synagogue were so angry that they wanted to push Jesus off the cliff but they couldn’t as He was the wrong goat!

The High priest was to be set apart to have a special relationship with God. It was to be intimate like the relationship like a man with a woman. It was to be exclusive like marriage.

What is the prayer that God will answer? If you want to know what God’s will is for your life then begin with the High Priestly prayer. If you ask in God’s name, you are 100% guaranteed to get these things.

1. Eternal life

God has never, ever turned anybody away who prayed for this. It is something that is God’s will for all mankind.

2. Glorification

If you ask for God to be glorified in your life, marriage or family then He will glorify us. It may involve suffering but then glorification is guaranteed. See Proverbs 8. There are people who are false and love death.

3. Know the future

We can know for sure what the future holds on Earth because we know what the situation is in Heaven. We pray for God’s will to be done on Earth as it is in Heaven in the Lord’s Prayer. There is only one teacher and Holy Father. See Matthew 23:8. The Bible warns of the Antichrist as a person who will claim to be the one teacher and higher authority and deceive many. He will be empowered by Satan. We know what 100% what Satan’s future will be. Revelation 20:10.

4. Joy

If you ask God for joy then you get it. Joy is different from happiness. Happiness is not guaranteed but it usually follows from joy.

5. Holiness

The opposite of holiness is worldliness. See 1 Corinthians 5:9-13. Those who try to totally separate from the world will fall into sin. E.g. The priests who have been paedophiles as they are not allowed to marry. The Holy Spirit will tell you to get out of the false Churches. It is possible to get power from God to be in the world but not of it. The light has to be seen in the darkness and not hidden away.

6. Sanctified in the truth

If you are faithful then you will be separated from those in error. God’s word is truth. As we trust in the Lord Jesus and devote our hearts to do His will we can live holy and blameless lives in the midst of a sinful world.

7. Atonement

There is a oneness/unity. The people of the world cannot live in harmony because of sin. God can put this unity back. This unity is there among those Churches who love and follow Jesus and other true believers. Love and truth go together to bring true unity in Christ.

God wants us to have all these things because He loves us. If you ask for these things in prayer, then you will get it. If you ask in Jesus name then you will get it. That is the High Priestly prayer!
