The god of Atheism

Atheism does not believe in the so-called “superstition” of believing in God. Atheists do not believe in the existence of anything supernatural and look only to the natural world for answers to understand the meaning of life. You might wonder why they protest so hard against Christianity at the time of religious festivals such as Christmas and Easter. They are so offended by something they profess to not believe in. It is easy to be an atheist looking only at this earth but perhaps not so easy when you see the night sky. Christianity upsets Atheists with it’s insistence that God has already come to planet Earth in the flesh as Jesus Christ and that only a fool doesn’t believe in the existence of God. See Psalm 14:1.

But what are Christians or any religious people to make of practical political atheism in those countries where it rules? We generally have a political system of communism where no other political parties are allowed to rule. Those who seek freedom or democracy are crushed and killed in their millions. (i.e. Mao, Lenin, Stalin, Pol Pot, etc). The leaders live like kings and the mass of the people are poor and starving.

However, the recent death of North Korean leader Kim Jong II. He was an absolute dictator and was considered to be a god-man. There is a pattern of this hero-worship in atheistic governments over the past century that is like emperor-worship during the Roman Empire all over again.

1. Kim Jongil (North Korea).

The government claims that Kim Jongil was born on Mount Paektu, a fabled peak on its border with China, and that his birth was announced by birds, a double rainbow and the birth of a new star. Worship of him is small fry compared to his father who is called “eternal” and “immortal” with huge statues of him around the country.

2. Lenin/Stalin (Russia)

Their bodies were embalmed when they died and put on display. There were millions killed as the communists began their “mission” of freeing the country of the “tyranny and oppression” of religion. Society had to be destroyed so that utopia (A kind of heaven on earth) could be created. The citizens of Russia and many Eastern-block countries were imprisoned behind walls, barbed-wire, minefields and soldiers with guns. These brutal dictators killed far more of their own people than any of their enemies. Millions are forced to follow their atheistic creed or die.

3. Mao (China)

The Cultural Revolution contains the phrase that “China has brought forth a Mao Tse-Tung. He is the people’s great”. The Chinese people were oppressed and killed in their millions under his rule. It was worship me or die. His picture was everywhere, and no one else’s was. Children and adults sang, acted, and danced to his praise. Every person carried “Mao’s Thoughts” as his “bible” and from an early age they were brainwashed with it. Mao, as a god, controlled his people’s religion (atheism only allowed), thoughts, wills and actions.

Mankind has an inherent instinct to worship and will always have a “god”. In communist countries the death of God is part of government law. The leaders and their dogma are worshipped. If God is not the source of his ultimate allegiance then mankind he will then create his own gods. He will worship other people, or his country, or institutions, or money, or power or fame. These are only different of worshipping himself!

The Bible tells us that the great angel Lucifer rebelled against God and fell from Heaven to become known as Satan. Satan tempted mankind to rebel against God like him and this lead to sin entering this fallen world. Those who deny God are following that great father of lies called the Devil or Satan. He wants us to worship him through evil men.

John 8:44 “You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.”

1 John 3:8 “He who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work.”

Revelation 12:9 “The great dragon was hurled down–that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him.”
