Amazing Creations – Human Language

Human language is the ability of men and women to communicate with one another in intelligent, symbolic, often abstract speech and writing. The origin of human language is a complete mystery to evolutionists. It was God who; as the eternal Word Himself; created the marvelous gift of human language along with the mouth and tongue and all the intricately complex vocal and mental apparatus. It is eminently reasonable to conclude that God’s gift of language to man was so that He could reveal His Word and will to us and that we could then respond in faith and praise to Him.

The Bible also explains why we have different human languages, as God had to “confuse” the common language being used in Babel after the flood, in order to force people to spread out around the world as He wanted. This was only a “surface” confusion though, as all languages express the same underlying basic ideas and concepts, enabling other languages to be learned and understood.

There are a number of key points to consider about human language that cle

  • Simultaneous multiple components – For Human speech to work you need a voice-producing mechanism, a throat cavity (including tongue) and a highly complex control system (the brain). Mutation and selection of evolution cannot produce these all at the same time. There is a purpose behing human speech.
  • Language source – A computer without software is useless. When a child is born it has no command of the human language but is able to learn from its parents and others. Evolution has no language source.
  • Knowledge transfer – Human language cannot be compared to the communication systems of animals. The most important aspect of human language is to pass knowledge of the world to others.
  • Language separates man from the animals – No animal is capable of achieving anything like human speech, and all attempts to teach chimpanzees to talk have failed. There are no normal humans that cannot speak and no animals that ever can. This is the great unbridgeable gap between all mankind and every component of the animal kingdom.
  • Language requires an inventor – Man could not be clever and resourceful without first possessing speech. This means that God’s intelligence was passed onto man. The Bible confirms that God spoke to Adam who understood what he was told. The first man, Adam, already possessed all the God-given gift of speech in all its fullness. See Genesis 2:23; 3:2, 10,12-13 &20. Adam was able to converse intelligently and create new words as well.
