We must preserve unity in essentials, liberty in non-essentials, charity in all things and the ability to know the difference.
1 – The garden
This church is like a garden. It is alive and growing. See also Acts 16. One of the first members of this church is Lydia. She becomes a flower in this garden.
2 – The gardener (vs. 18-19)
Are you making progress as a Christian? God prunes those who do not bear fruit. The gardener sees below the surface. The seed goes into the ground. It needs care to grow.
3 – A poisonous weed (vs. 20)
A weed needs to be uprooted. If you just cut the top it will grow back.

She taught a multi-faith gospel.

She taught the reverse of God’s Word.

She seduced God’s Word.
4 – A time to harvest (vs. 21-29)

It’s a sad harvest. Sin is serious.

It’s a glad harvest.
