It was Albert Einstein who said, “Science without religion is lame, religion with science is blind”. Today, a “militant atheism” has invaded the scientific community. Any religious belief or even agnosticism is out of fashion. Those who are not devoted to atheism are considered equivalent to the village idiot! It is a modern-day inquisition within the scientific community and forced evangelism of those outside.

1 – No other gods before me

These scientific atheists have permeated the universities and research. Science is the only true “god” and any mention of intelligent design or intelligent creator is seen as deserting the “faith”. Researchers who mention in research papers intelligent design or a creator, run the risk of losing their job and some indeed have found themselves “executed”. Teachers who fail to follow the doctrine have also been let go. Is no intelligence allowed?! Science is seen as a single system of belief in which rational people can put their faith, or if not, then their blind devotion.

2 – Religious fanaticism and persecution

The hard-line atheistic scientists find great pleasure in recounting the history of religious brutality and persecution. Whilst the “Christian world” shows little recent evidence the same can not be said for atheism. The past century has hardly been dominated by faith and the result has been awful! We have seen the rise of atheistic government and evolutionary science. Lenin, Stalin, Hitler, Mao, Pol Pot to name a few, are major killers of mankind. They will never be considered religious leaders of mankind. If people think that God does not exist then everything is permitted. Religion began to seep out of institutions throughout the nineteenth century onwards.

The attack on religion today by fanatical atheists usually tries to pinhole all religion as evil. However, the modern day suffering of poison gas, barbed wire, pseudo-scientific experiments mass murder victims, cluster bombs, napalm, missiles, nuclear weapons, etc, cannot be placed at religion’s door except by revisionist historians along the line of those who deny the holocaust. We are NOT getting kinder and gentler in our modern scientific age without religion. The happy picture painted by atheists is an illusion. Human misery has only got worse. Consider these statistics of recent selected excessive deaths.

• First World War (1914-1918) – 15 million killed.
• Stalin (Soviet Union – 1924-1953) – 20 million killed.
• Second World War (1937-1945) – 55 million killed.
• Mao (China – 1949-1975) – 40 million killed.
• Congo (18868-1908) – 8 million killed.
• Afghanistan (1979-2001) – 1.8 million killed.

A secular society that does not believe in God is watching what they are doing, will be more likely to bring human misery. Religion is not something that poisons everything. It can be salt that adds flavour as the Bible teaches about the Christian message. It is better than the moral relativism that goes by the consensus of men and women. God’s commandments are good for society. The call good evil and evil good. See Isaiah 5:20.

3 – The Faith of Scientists

See Hebrews 11:1. The atheistic scientists are quick to lambast all religions – Christianity in particular. Whilst they might find fault in the character of God, it does nothing to disprove His existence. It does even less to show that science has disproved his existence. Western science is above all the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Scientists can seem to have no doubt in their various theories even though many cannot be seen! Failure should be an option and it is how we learn in true science. The number of evolutionary frauds should be warning enough to any scientist.

4 – Darwin and evolution

For militant atheistic scientists this is their “Holy Grail”. They believe that the theory of evolution is now a proven fact. Darwin was a genius and there is no need to believe in a God anymore. Every human being is descended from the apes and this means that a belief in God is not needed. This is commanded and woe betide any fool who disagrees with these commandments!

The evolution from one species to another does not exist and cannot be reproduced. Is it possible that it is not true?! Human beings have been endowed with powers and properties not found elsewhere in the animal kingdom and perhaps the universe! Apes and monkeys are behind bars and we are not. They perform for their food and are eager to perform the experiments we give them. We have given a few of them the gift of language (basic and limited) and yet they have nothing to say! The Planet of the Apes is likely to remain science fiction! The similarities are interesting but the differences are profound. Human beings are very unique!

• Human brain.
• Human speech and articulation.
• Human hand.
• Human form (upright and bipedal gait)
• Human moral system
• Creativity – Art, architecture, music, dance, mathematics, poetry, literature, etc, etc.

There is no doubt that humans beings alive today are connected to those who lived thousands of years ago. There is undoubtedly a connection between human beings and the rest of the animal kingdom. However, the connection is the same divine creator and not evolution! A baby from the most primitive tribe could be brought up in England, speak perfect English, graduate from Oxford/Cambridge University and become a professional in any job – teacher, doctor, etc. There is this potential in any human being that makes no sense by trying to explain with evolution, The potential has always been there. It can be an unopened gift but if opened then there is amazing potential.

The amazing human mind is more than some sort of computer. It is a super computer that cannot be explained by evolutionary “fairy tales” with little truth and mostly made up to fill the many gaps. It still makes sense that mankind is created in the image of God.
