This church is faithful to the Lord and each other.
1 – An open door
If the door is open does that mean it is right for you to go in? If that is always true then Jonah was right to run away!
-
The opportunity of salvation – It is not the context but it is true elsewhere in the Bible. See Matthew 7:14. Have you taken this door of salvation? Most people take the broad way. The narrow way requires us to stoop. It is so narrow that only one can enter at a time. Make sure you have chosen the right one – the narrow way.
-
The opportunity of service – How can I hear unless someone tells me? The opportunity is there to serve Christ. It is one beggar telling another beggar where to find food. See 1 Corinthians 6:9 & Galatians 4:3-4. Doors can open for effective service. When they do we should grasp the opportunity. There will always be those who oppose. (vs. 8).
-
The reality of opposition – The pressure is on to mind your own business. To say nothing about Jesus. We are to share our lives – give a book, have a coffee, etc.
2 – The master key
The key is in the hand of Christ. See Isaiah 22.
-
Christ holds the key of salvation. It is a symbol of authority and ability. See Luke 13:24.
-
Christ holds the key of service. We cannot barge our way through doors that are still closed. We are to wait patiently and pray much. There are those who seek to force the door open.
