A Glimpse Of Glory – Revelation 15:1-8

When you look at the heavens you get a glimpse of glory but imagine what glory there is on the inside. There is a glorious future awaiting us in heaven. There is a difference between what is going on earth and what is going on in heaven.

1 – A picture of powerful wrath (vs. 1)

God’s wrath is coming to a boiling point. God’s clock is about to strike midnight. What can we say about Judgment?

  • It is coming. It is Saints are heading for glory and sinners are heading for grief.
  • It is complete. There are seven angels. This shows the completeness. There will be no way of avoiding this judgment. There will be no mistrials or loopholes.

See Revelation 6:12-17. It is a scary time! Even the mountains are moving! The people are hiding in the mountains so that the mountain will fall on them! God’s judgment is being delayed but it is sure to come. You need to get your case settles out of court. Come to Jesus now!

2 – A picture of the proven Word of God (vs. 2)

This sea of glass is a symbol of the Word of God. See Revelation 4. The priest in the Old Testament had to use a sea of brass. In the New Testament it is a sea of glass. The Word of God is important.

  • It has saving power. See Romans 10:17. Faith comes from hearing the Word of God. You won’t get it from any other book. We need to immerse ourselves deeper in the Word of God.
  • It has sanctifying power. See John 17:17. We are born-again by the Word of God.

3 – A picture of the precious worship of God (vs. 3-8)

The redeemed of God will be actually worshipping the Lord with these verses. God is praised for his works and his ways. Our works are dirty rags without the works of God. We have our ways but his ways are great and mighty. When we consider the works and ways of the Lord we can worship!

  • Overcome with a sense of wonder.
  • Overcome with God’s omnipotence. God will give us the grace that we need.
  • Overcome with the righteousness of God. God will always do what is right.
  • Overcome with the sovereignty of God. God will do what He will do. He has a reason that I may never know. God will look after us. He does not make mistakes!
  • Overcome with the holiness of God. Only God alone is holy.
  • Overcome with the immutability of God. God will not change His mind.
  • Overcome with the providence of God. God has all things under control. See Romans 8:28. The good and bad things work together for my good. It is like salt. Salt consists of sodium and chloride which are poisonous normally but taken together it can be used for seasoning and preservation. Praise be to God!
