Belief Brings Success – Philippians 4:13

How many times have people read this passage and added a “but”, “if” or “when”. Paul could do anything from Christ how strengthened him. If a person doubts or does not believe they can have something than it will often be just beyond their reach. The ultimate key to success is to believe. What we believe in our mind will often cause us to succeed or fail. To succeed you:-

1 – You must believe in God

If you want to achieve the goals that God has for your life you must believe in God.

  • To believe is to envision something – This is not mind over matter. Belief will create a mental picture. We might have a mental picture of heaven. We do this all the time but often it is negative. We can look at things either negatively or positively. We can be positive on what we want to do and who we want to be. There are “cobwebs of the mind” which are negative thoughts that control our minds. We seem to have the idea that we are inferior. This self-doubt is not how God sees things. Our body often cannot distinguish between what is imagined and what is real. If you see yourself as a failure then your body will reflect this. You begin to live out what is in your mind – what you think. Change your thinking! See Job 3:25-26.
  • Forget about past failures – God will help you in the future. We are to learn from our failures to achieve success in the future.

2 – You must believe God has equipped you

The Christian has the grace of god, the spirit of God, destined for heaven and has been given talents and gifts. We are God’s workmanship. We are to have confidence in almighty God and our selves. God has planned our lives to be productive. He did this from all eternity. We are children of the living God. We will have suffering and failure as they develop character. It is a growing progress.

3 – You must believe in the principles of success found in the Word of God

  • Accept as true that God has endowed you with all you need.
  • Remember He has promised to make a way.
  • Read your Bible with a red pencil and shade verses on courage, confidence and faith.
  • Pray promises back to God.
  • Visualise and affirm your assets – don’t major on your weaknesses.
  • Stamp indelibly on your mind the person you want to become. Don’t think “I want to be the best I can”.
  • Replace negative with positive thoughts.
  • Quote Romans 8:31 – I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. It has nothing to do with self.
  • Thank the Father that Christ empowers you.
  • Remember God is with you in this. God is big enough to help me to this goal.

You can achieve every goal that God has set for you. Belief brings success. It is yours to ask and believe.
