The Christian is not always able to distinguish a satanic attack but should always be ready. Here are three things you should do to survive a satanic attack.
1 – Identify the enemy
Satanic forces are invisible – they cannot be seen. Satan will often use other people as his vessel. Brothers and sisters in Christ are not each other enemies. Or at least they should not be! The Bible teaches clearly about Satan and his demons.
2 – Stand firm against the enemy
You do NOT give up! How do we stand firm? We are told four times to stand firm. There can be no compromise. We have spiritual armour and we are to prepare for battle. Satan will always attack a Christian. We should not be surprised.
3 – Dress for the battle
A soldier does not go out to battle naked! You need to get dressed for the battle.
-
Gird your loins with truth. Put on the breastplate of righteousness. It is a practical righteousness. You must not tolerate sin on a daily basis.
-
Shod your feet with the preparation of the Gospel of peace. The Roman soldier’s shoe was thick with metal. They could stand firm. This is not about preaching the Gospel. When in battle we need God’s peace. Those who waver will desert.
-
Take up the shield of faith. It was a big shield – like a door. This shield protected the soldier from an arrow and from flaming arrows. (Dipped in pitch).
-
Take the helmet of salvation. To protect and deliver me from wrong thinking.
-
Take up the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. No man goes to battle without his sword. It is our only offensive weapon. Hit Satan with the Word and then walk away.
See 1 Peter 5:9 & James 4:7. Satan does not like the Word of God. A soldier who goes to battle in plain clothes will get killed. Know your enemy stand firm and dress for battle and you can survive a satanic attack.
