Do you have a super ego? Watch out for arrogance. You bubble may be about to burst.
1 – Death is the key to glorification (vs. 23)
Jesus saw his death as the key to victory. The disciples saw Jesus being glorified by his miracles, his teaching, etc. To the disciples Jesus had an upside down view of the kingdom. Jesus saw the big picture.
-
In death he conquered Satan. See Hebrews 2 & Colossians 2.
-
In death he conquered Sin. See Romans 8.
-
In death he conquered death.
Death is the key that unlocks the door to eternal life and life now. The glory belonged not only to Jesus but to the Father.
2 – Death is the pathway to fruitfulness (vs. 24)
The plant may have to die to give its seed so that life can grow again. No death – no resurrection.
3 – Death is the gate to blessing (vs. 25-26)
You must die to self so that we might live for Christ. Our fragile egos must go. Paul had much that he could boast in but he counted it all rubbish. It is about a life change. Do you have a God dependant life? The entry fee is nothing but the annual subscription costs you everything. The gospel bursts the bubble. Jesus is looking for disciples. Humble yourself in repentance and let Jesus be the Lord of your life. Arrogance has no place. Die to self. Is your bubble ready to burst?
