The Sons of Zadok – Ezekiel 44:1-24

Zadok was a Levite who remained loyal to David. See 2 Samuel 15:24-29. He represents those who remain loyal to the Lord. The word “Zadok” is means “to be right” or “righteous one”. The Zadokites later became the Sadducees that are mentioned in the New Testament.

Ask yourself this question – “Is my minister a Levite or a Zadokite?” I can ask the question but only you can answer the question. In the Bible love depends on truth. There is always real cheese in a rat trap! You cannot put on a breastplate of righteousness unless you have the belt of truth. There are a number of crucial differences between a Levite and a good Levite (Zadokite).

Levite Zadokite
Give place to the alien belief. Kick the alien belief out!
They ministered to the people. They ministered to the Lord.
Give the people what they want. Give the people what God said they needed.
Mixture. See 2 Peter 2:1. God hates a mixture. These people will see truth in Mormonism, Islam, etc but ignore error. Pure.
Sweat. They go from fad to fad and strive in the flesh. No sweat. They wear a linen garment. He will rest in the Lord.
Will not teach people discernment. “After they had mocked him, they took off the robe and put his own clothes on him. Then they led him away to crucify him”. Matthew 27:31.
Being crucified with thieves. Isaiah 53:12. Teach people to discern.
Come down on the fence. Take a stand.

Jesus was a good shepherd to his sheep and would not tolerate evil. In the Temple he chased out the moneychangers whom he said had made it “a den of thieves”. See Matthew 21:12-13. There will always be those “shepherds” who are really hirelings or “wolves in sheep clothing” that do not care for the sheep. See John 10:7-16. Find a church with a pastor who is a Zadokite and you will find a good shepherd who loves Jesus.
