God speaks personally and he speaks for today. He is expecting a yes or a no, not a “not now”. There are four calls of God:-
1 – Salvation
God uses different people and means to bring us to salvation. We do not have to wait to understand everything. You can harden your heart and say “No” so that you have no desire for God anymore. It is a dangerous thing to hear the gospel and say “No” to God.
2 – Sanctification
See 1 Thessalonians 4:3, 7 and 1 Peter 1:14. Sanctification means to be “set apart” for the purposes of God. It is not a sinless life! Sanctification is a process. It lasts for the rest of your life. Are you committed to living a holy life? Are you bending to the will of God? Pray to God for forgiveness by mentioning specifically your sin otherwise you may keep repeating it!
3 – Service
See Ephesians 2:8-10 & 1 Peter 4. In what way are you serving the Lord? See Colossians 3:23-24. God has tailored a gift especially for you. Everyone has a gift. There is no excuse. There are lots of ways to serve the Lord. What specifically are you doing? Are you an encourager or a prayer warrior?
4 – Accountability
See Romans 14:12. The time is coming when we shall all give an account of ourselves to God. What have we done with the talent God has given you? Do you bury it or invest it wisely?
