It Takes God To Make A Home – Deuteronomy 5:1 & 6:1-5

Satan is a pusher of lies. He wants the foundations to be destroyed. There is no goodness without God.

How do we bring about shame in our society? Today people openly talk about their sins even on TV. There is no shame. God’s word is often overlooked. People behave like animals because they are taught that they are descended from animals. The Ten Commandments are considered to be obsolete today. They are considered to be too old. People do not want to be commanded to do something. How many of us have the Ten Commandments posted in our home? It is the responsibility of the father to teach the commandments to his children.

1 – The great revelation – One Lord

It is not the God of your choice. It is the Lord (Jehovah). The “mush” god has no theology, no creed or tenants of faith. This god is a buddy to all. The commandments of the mush god are written in sand. The Bible does not spend a lot of time arguing against atheism. See Psalm 14:1 – An atheist is a fool. The laws of science are the laws that God has already put there!

2 – The great response – one love

We are to love sincerely (whole heart). Children can spot a phony a mile off. Do you have a great fire for the things of God? It is to be a selfless love. There needs to be no area in your life that is off limits to God. Where are you putting your time and money? There is to be a strong love.

3 – The great responsibility- one law (vs. 6-8)

Your home is to be a law school. The emphasis is upon the father. The father must be the head of the home. Too many fathers have abandoned their role in the house. If you don’t believe it and live it, then don’t teach it. It is not enough to simply send them to Sunday school. Parents should reward their children for doing good things. God’s laws are to be talked about in conversation.
